Resembling miniature cacti, Marsh Samphire (also known as sea asparagus or glasswort) are succulent, annual plants that thrive in saline environments, such as sea coasts and salt marshes.
Marsh samphire has vibrant green stalks, similar to baby asparagus, with a distinctively crisp and salty taste.
It can be used raw in salad, and goes really well with fish, using it as a replacement for salt .
Failing that, it makes a perfect summer snack to enjoy with a glass of wine or a beer!
