Fruit & Veg this week: Red Pippin Apples, Kohl Rabi & First Medlars

We have a few lovely new lines in this week - the first  Red Pippin Applesorganic white cauliflowers,  bio-dynamic Khol Rabibio-dynamic jerusalem artichokes.
 


Most potatoes have been pulled up and bagged now - if you are looking for a nice small, potato salady style spud - then Ulster Sceptre Potatoes. are the ones you need.


And very happily we have the first of the new season Medlars in this week, from Fingringhoe in Essex. Hard to find, Medlars must be cooked, and they make perhaps the finest of fruit jellies, with a wonderful datey flavour, that goes really well with cheese, and game, and is just lovely over the winter months.
 


As ever, we have a simple recipe bag on hand to help you - Medlar Jelly Kit - as well as Muslin towels (£2) and 300ml jars (50p) if you dont have the kit.
