Its Cabbage season - and there is no better way to celebrate it than to get making some delicious long lasting Sauerkraut!

 

All you need is veggies, jars & some salt, and you can create delicious combinations to last you through the winter.


Home-made Sauerkraut is super healthy - the fermentation of the veggies produces lots of lactobacillus microbes that are so important to your digestive system, and the lactic acid produced in the fermentation process is what preserves the veggies, and gives the sauerkraut its lovely sharp taste.


Please do not mistake your home-made sauerkraut for the pasteurised (and vinegar stored) products you find in the supermarket - these will be infinitely healthier and tastier!
