An improvement on the old-fashioned mixture. A carefully selected blend of old fashioned varieties, with a delightful scent and colour. This variety also has very good heat tolerance.

Hardy Annual

Kings recommend sowing sweet pea seeds into a good quality seed sowing compost and water with tap water rather than water from a water butt. Butt water can contain harmful pathogens, resulting in poor germination.

Where to Sow

September sowings in flowering site 2cm (1") deep. Later sowings in pots, five seeds in each. October and November sowings in a cold frame. January and February sowings in a heated glasshouse. March sowings in a cold frame. April sowings direct in flowering site.

What to do Next

Glasshouse raised sweet pea seedlings should be hardened off during March. Plant out pot grown seedlings in the flowering site 15cm (6") apart in April. Thin direct sown seedlings to 10cm (4") apart. Pick flowers regularly to encourage new growth.
