Spicy Pea Pizelli
From The Pastizzi Bar, Clapham, London.
Maltese Street Food, baked in London.
Frozen
Pastizzi are one of Malta’s most loved street foods. Walk through almost any Maltese town and you’ll find little hole-in-the-wall pastizzerias, where locals stop for these delicious savoury pastries.
Traditionally filled with ricotta or piżelli — a spiced mushy-pea filling — pastizzi are made from an incredibly delicate, flaky pastry that takes
hours to prepare.
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
Pre-heat oven to 230°C. Place frozen pastizzi on a baking tray and cook for 25-30mins until golden brown.
Warning: Filling is hot
