We have the first pheasants in this week (the season runs from 1st October to 31st January).
The Pheasant is Britain's most popular and best value game bird - and at 399p for a 600g-900g, compares very favourably to chicken, with a slightly stronger taste.
It has a low fat content, and so needs careful cooking (best to braise or pot roast it, so that it doesnt dry out), and we are offering them whole or jointed (I find a jointed pheasant cooks really well).
