A hard frost on Tuesday , but still only the first proper one of the season which means that pulling carrots & parsnips today has been relatively straightforward - firm ground, even if a bit frozen, is better than wet!
Martin at Ripple Farm will be strawing his organic beetroot crop down for winter storage next week - he has a bit more than he wanted at this stage in the year, and so we have a beetroot sale for the next couple of weeks. Please note - fresh beetroot does not freeze well, but cooked beetroot does!
The one veg affected by frost so far has been celery - it wont be available this week, sorry!
