'Katy' is a very popular eating apples, it's a cross between the popular parent varieties 'James Grieve' and 'Worcester Pearmain'.
The apple is a vibrant red in colour and sweet and juicy in flavour with slight hints of strawberry and plenty of acidity. It's best eaten as soon as possible after it's picked. Due to it's high yield of juice it also makes excellent apple juice and can also been used for cider.
Thatchers Cider Company use it to make 'Katy Rose’.
