Very few quince this year!

12 October 2016

We are very sorry to say that we have a severe shortage of quince this year. This has been caused by a warm winter, that caused the trees to blossom early, and then a steady frost in late April that just wiped the blossom out and meant that the fruit just never really took hold and the harvest is hugely reduced.

We have a few this week, but that will be it.

For all you jelly makers out there, please seek solace in the medlars that will be with us at the end of the month.
