And as summer reaches its zenith, we also have the first of the plums from Elm Farm in Kent: they are the opal variety. Opal plums are probably the best tasting of the early plum variety, the opal is a free-stone plum which means that the stone falls away easy from the flesh,
And from Elm Farm, we have the first of the greengages, larger and a pale goldeny green, delicous!
