Rare breed of the week: 'Tamworth' Pig

08 February 2011
Introducing the rare breed 'Tamworth' pig.
Also known available as the 'Sandy Black' or the 'Tam', this particular breed came top of a taste test by Bristol University
using both commercial and rare breed pigs in a scientifically controlled experiment. Due to the fact that it relatively lacks inbreeding, bar its relation to the 'Irish Grazers', the Tamworth is almost certainly the truest indigenous breed of the British Isles.

Available as Scored Pork Belly (
1kg, 2kg, 3kg) or Loin Chops, the Tamworth really is worth a try.
