Produce Update 02/10/19

02 October 2019

As Autumn weather closes in, I always imagine the autumn harvest rumbling in too: from the relatively small turnips & beets to potatoes & squash, they bound in, taking the place of the lighter lines, such as beans & peas - still with us, but not for much longer.

In this vein, we are having a celebratory capsicum sale - 20% off - probably only with us for another 3 weeks, but so that you don't forget them.

My favourite breakfast at the moment: a tray of sliced up peppers & aubergines, and put in the oven for 45 minutes, and then taken out before you go to bed. Then served on toast rustic rye bread with goat butter - its delicious.

October is a great month for Brassica: the family of veggies that includes Cabbages, Cauliflowers & Broccoli.
