We have the first Forced Rhubarb in now from Yorkshire, which with its acid pink stems is always feels like a much needed shot in the arm to get you through a grey old month.
It is forced in so much as it is grown indoors, in the dark, and stretches towards the candellight, its pale stems a result of reduced sunlight. But it is gorgeous, and has a much more delicate taste than outdoor rhubarb.
