D'Arcy Spice Apples & Tolleshunt Celeriac.

28 October 2015

We have the first D'Arcy Spice Apples in this week - always a particular highpoint in our seasonal calendar, as they were first  developed in the garden of Tolleshunt D'Arcy Hall, which is close to Wild Fields, Garden Harvest & Jacobs Farm - from where such much of our produce comes.

It is a lovely Russet Apple, known for its spice-like flavour, and well worth a try.

Matthew at Garden Harvest has his first celeriac in this week and we very much hope you try them. With its nutty flavour, Celeriac is lovely steamed and mixed with potatoes to make a mash, or worked into soups.

It is alro really nice just grated and mixed with mayonnaise, mustard & lemon - more commonly known as Celeriac Remoulade - very popular in France, but not so often seen here - please try it...!
