New pop-up venture on Upper Street launched by Robert Barker, founder of Farm Direct, who delivers English farm produce to the doors of hundreds of residents in Islington and North London and Philip Dundas, Pop-Up cook and writer who sold out in September at the Marquess Tavern in Canonbury and whose new book Cooking without Recipes has recently featured in the Evening Standard, Guardian and Telegraph.
Running from 24 November until the end of April 2012 in a disused car repair garage on Upper Street, between The Kings Head Theatre Pub and The Almeida, Islington Barn will feature:
Pop-Up Farm Direct Shop: Thursdays to Sundays – fresh English Seasonal produce including vegetables and fruit, meat, fish, game, poultry, bread.
Christmas Shopping: This is a one stop shop collection and delivery service so you can come in and buy or order online and Farm Direct will deliver your purchases later in the day to your door. Christmas Trees, Turkeys, Geese can all be pre-ordered here. www.farm-direct.com
Kids Entertainment: Children’s theatre and activities being scheduled.
Christmas Market: In collaboration with Antonio’s Restaurant, there will be a Christmas market selling gifts, serving mulled wine, roasted chesnuts, coffee and panettone.
PipsDish Pop-Ups: If you are looking for a private party, you can book the space and Philip Dundas will cook one of his 3 course dinners for up to 30 people. And there will be some extra special festive entertainment. Call Philip on 07764 336 220 if you want more information on this.
