British Sausage Week!

06 November 2013

This week marks the annual celebration of the taste, quality and diversity of the good old pork sausage.

Traditional British sausages used to be made in the winter months. Throughout the autumn, when the roots were plentiful, the pigs would be fed and fattened up until they were big and strong. As autumn moved into winter when the apples had fallen from the trees, and food was less plentiful, the time would come for the pig to be killed and the trimmings would become sausages.

These days we are spoilt for choice with such an array of flavours, textures and spices in our sausages, but we have decided to celebrate this week by offering a great deal on a British classic – the great pork & apple sausage. Reduced to just £3.39(approx) this week, it’s the perfect time to hunker down and celebrate with some authentic British bangers and creamy mash!
