We are on green tenderhooks here, hoping that conditions tonight are temperate enough to ensure we can pick all of our winter leaf in the morning.
The purple sprouting and kales (green, black and mixed) should all be fine - they are pretty hardy and high(ish) off the ground. Our mixed winter salad should also be ok as they under field covers.
The chard and the spinach are the most vulnerable, as they are low to the ground, easily covered by snow and slow to thaw out. So we will see - but have faith in Martin at Ripple Farm, we are sure he will weave his magic!
It is the last week of sprouts this week - the quality is diminishing, but they are ok if you want them! Separately, at Perry Court, we hope to have the first of the flower sprouts in this week - that novel mixture (part sprout, part kale) - they are always popular - and a February treat!
