We are getting the first bunched roots in this week - bunched carrots & bunched beetroot, from The Paget Family of Stills Farm in Wiltshire - we usually get them from our more nearly growers in Tolleshunt D'Arcy, but they missed out on last week's showers so their crop hasnt quite filled out yet for this weekend.
If you are ordering the bunched beetroot, dont forget the leaves are entirely edible and a great bonus part of early season beet. You can steam them, or add them to a stir fry (treat them like spinach, or the early season kale).
We have the first of the new season non-organic chard in from Wild Fields this week, well timed as our organic chard from Ripple Farm is currently crop-gapped.
And we have the first of the Cos Lettuce in this week, still small and relatively lean compared to how they flourish later in the summer, they will be eating beautifully this week.
