Tesco's announces a £500m of price cuts - so is farm direct still good value?

28 September 2011

Farm direct are trying not to quake too much in our wellies as Tesco announced its £500m of price drops - though we suspect that some of Tesco's suppliers are, seeing as it is often the producers who shoulder much of the drop in prices when supermarkets fight.

But how best to assure our customers that you are getting good value from us? Whilst we are sure that you can judge for yourself what constitutes good value, we thought that a simple rule of thumb might help:

For every £1 spent at farm-direct.com, roughly 67p goes back to the producers & growers from whom we buy, and we keep the remainder. We think this is a reasonable split, hopefully allowing both sides to earn an honest crust, and also provide good value to you as well.

We would welcome your thoughts.....
