Halloween Treats

23 October 2013

Did you know that the original Jack O’Lanterns were actually made from turnips? Whilst a turnip is tasty, they are certainly not as attractive and versatile as today's carving pumpkins.

Whilst traditions associated with Halloween have changed over the 6,000 years of it's existence, here at Farm Direct we want to encourage a new tradition of encouraging you not to waste the goodness inside!

This is the time of year when millions of pumpkins are carved and their innards discarded, but you can do more with your pumpkin than just carve it and there is nothing more apt than creating your own sweet pumpkin pie.

We’ve also provided you with a recipe of how to make your own toffee apples. Using our little juicy Spartan apples they make the perfect bite sized treat and are an impressive surprise!
