Veggie Of The Week- The Nutty Celeriac

20 November 2013

This week it's the nutty celeriac, the knotted bulb of certain types of celery. Celeriac is a root vegetable that has a delicate blended taste of celery and parsley with a slight hint of nuttiness.

It’s really low in carbohydrates unlike other root veg such as potatoes and maybe roasted, stewed, blanched, mashed, or even eaten raw. It is the perfect partner to rich flavour such as game and makes a wonderful ingredient to a winter stew.

For all the vegetarians out there, why not try slicing and dipping it into an egg batter and sautéing it as a tasty meat substitute.
