All in all, this is a happy greens week - but the highlight has to be that our Chalke Valley Watercress returns for the first time after its Winter Break.
Whilst the astronomically minded amongst you will claim that we are barely half way through winter (first day of spring - the vernal equinox - is 21st March), in practice there are different ways to track the shifting of the seasons, and for the veggie minded, the return of watercress always encourages us to feel that we are on the upswing, so please dont spoil our party!
The watercress is left alone for a couple of months each year (Dec/ Jan) to allow it to grow back and also because the time of year makes for chilly harvesting!
Mix it with either our classic tomatoes, winter lettuce, or organic mixed salad bags, for a refreshing and peppery salad.
