Stop the press - we have line-caught mackerel being landed by our fishing cooperative this week, which is really exciting as it coincides or course with our forced rhubarb - and the two make a classic combination!
Local Resi Nigel Slater offers recipes for it with either roasted rhubarb, or as compote and it works really well with the tartness of the rhubarb off-setting the oiliness of the mackerel.
