The berries are starting to come in now, and so we have the first of the gooseberries, raspberries & blackberries. The gooseberry season is short and with their thicker, huskier skin, they freeze really well (which is why we offer the bulk buy option).
Gooseberries are by far the sharpest, tartest & zestiest of all our berries and are synonymous with the freshness of early summertime. Either compote them, adding in bramleys & sugar, stir into whipped cream to make a fool.
And of course, raspberries, blackberries (and strawberries) - enjoy cooked, or uncooked, as we are sure you know!
