We have the first Apples in this week, which is always very exciting!
We have Discovery Apples, which are always the first Eaters of the Season and we have Grenadiers, which are the first Cookers of the Season.
Discoveries are always the first of our new season apples - they are very crisp, and being the first apples, their flavour is more acidic than sweet (as sugar levels at this point in the season are still quite low.
Similarly, the Grenadiers are also still pretty tart tasting, but many people do like them this way - they will make an excellent crumble, just make sure you add plenty of sugar!
